TRANSIT: EARTH – VENUS

My planned trip to Cyprus remained uncertain for a long time because of the crazy war in Iran, but luckily it was possible to travel. So I could visit on May 22, Aphrorite´s Rock in Cyprus – Birthplace of Aphrodite on Earth. I was there only for a short time, but after being there, that short time became endless and started a process I hadn’t anticipated I didn’t know that the most well-known presentation or depiction of Aphrodite (in the western world) is the painting by Botticelli “The Birth of Venus”. Suddenly I remembered all the drawings and artworks I had made over many years of “The Birth of Venus” And strangely enough, at the beginning of this year I had read texts by Omnec Onec, a Venus woman, who is born on Earth in 1955 to tell – and help us understand that the Earth actually is in danger and that it is absolutely necessary for us humans to change our way of thinking about Humanity, as well as our view of the Earth, as part of the larger cosmos! Important to mention is that since 2009 my ´artistic´ view on Humanity finds expression in the project or social sculpture ‘The Earth is Indivisible’ that is still being worked on with people from all over the world.

And so for Art Festival “48 Hours Neukölln” on July 3-4-5-2016 the installation: ´Transit: Earth – Venus came about, which just a few months ago I couldn’t even have imagined.
